Welcome to Forgotten Tales story character essence workshop! Here players can come together and discuss what storybook characters they are considering for their character's essence, their new potential abilities, and even ask for help if you can't think of anything on your own.

Here are some reminders about how this all works:
- Although not required, participation in the Workshop is highly recommended.
- Make sure to check the Character Roster and Essence List to see if your choices are not already taken.
- All characters will inherit characteristics and themes from a particular storybook character.
- Storybook characters can be from any work of literary fiction such as fairy tales, folklore, fables, nursery rhymes, classics, plays, mythos, legends, etc. They can be well-known or obscure, and origins must pre-date the 1950s.
- The essence doesn't necessarily have to match the character, just make sure you pick one that you can work with.
- Refer to the Abilities section to see how abilities work.
- Because the game currently doesn't allow duplicate essences, list your top preference and any others you're considering, but also be open for other suggestions. And if you see someone else list one you are considering, list it, anyway! Anyone could change their mind. Just don't be salty or badger anyone about their choice, otherwise it's an automatic boot out the door. The goal is to try to not only match the best essence to the character, but also one that people can have fun with.

- We have an accompanying Test Drive and Registration is always open.
- Feel free to hop into the Discord server for help and questions.

After reading everything, I'm also inclined to say Fairy Godmother, if only because she'd make an excellent one. She's practically like one for making clothes for everyone. But would she also burst into song and and give everyone buffs—
As for canon point—that's. An. Excellent question...../squint. Fate episodes work along with note of can opt to recognize or not, but then there's all the event stuff. Like for example with Eustace, there's his first Fate episode, and then there's also the one related to the recent Society event, Second Advent. And the Society was involved with the current WMTSBIII event (go go Isla) so. ...Yesss hmmmmm. Probably could figure out some kind "open ended catchall" that could deal with that OR WE JUST NOT WORRY ABOUT IT...

I'll deffo be going with the Godmother then since she's a damn near perfect fit. It works out pretty well that there's apparently no other tailor in any other Skydom out there so she can hook everyone up with clothes. Singing will absolutely happen. Bibbidi-bobbidi-buffs.
AND RIGHT EVENTS Korwa shows up in Table for Six but also plenty of other events and fate episodes in passing because again only bloody tailor in the whole sky. Going with WE JUST NOT WORRY ABOUT IT might be best...
Or we ditch the Erunes and pick up dragon knights/the main cast to make things simplerEustace will look great covered in pumpkin. Some might say. Gourdgeous.

I did like the others, but. ngl I just really want a fairy godmother LMAO. Also imagining her as more like an old lady cracks me up. I think the whole midnight thing is also a nice touch, kind of acts like a unique limiter to her powers. She can do all this cool stuff BUT IT DOESN'T LAST FOREVER..... On the flip side, maybe any clothing she makes the traditional way could have some special magic imbued into them? Nothing all too powerful, but just a little extra glitter and STAT BUFFS—
Suddenly Korwa is also a pro fantasy armor tailor—
BUT YEAH... And Eustace here just comes and goes whenever because Society missions as well as not being the most social guy around, anyway. I think just not worrying about it might be best....

Having the chance to play with the midnight limit will be fun! She will just get frustrated her happy end powers don't have happy ends what the heck why cut out at midnight-- Her clothes will SPARKLE and give AT LEAST A SMALL PERCENT BUFF TO DA AND TA RATES.
Putting together armor. From a variety of vegetables. Super magical super flashy armor that looks all powerful but when you go to put it on again the next day all you have are potatoes and disappointment.

only had one dissent but it's fair and i'm also eeeeeh so i will work my magic to make it work. in my favor—i mean fairness. yeah. totesMAYBE LATER ON HER MAGIC COULD LAST PAST MIDNIGHT but in different ways? Like all the pretty glamour and magic wears off but maybe the item is still enchanted and can be used for a separate time limit? ...Okay now that I've actually written that, that could actually work pretty well. First time around, the item is like full power awesome—until midnight. But it's still enchanted and it could be used again, but for like an hour once a day or something, and that time limit could increase the better she learns her abilities. AND GIVE ME ALL THE DA/TA RATES and maybe some defense that would be cool. Feather accessories—gaaasp maybe feathers could be another thing she could work a theme with?
Hey, maybe farmers would enjoy their vegetable armor... Maybe... Could be effective against enemies that don't like vegetables? So. Kids.

i believe in you making things work in the spirit of fairness! for the sake of the erune club.I'd like to see her creating these really stunning armor pieces and robes that end up looking so drab and ugh once the limit is up! Or perhaps each consecutive day she doesn't "refresh" her magic on the item it slowly decays to the point of rusting/fraying and becoming useless. AT FIRST it would be a dead "oh it's midnight poof bye" but as she gets better with her magic things can be stretched out, persist past midnight/the time limit THERE ARE A LOT OF WAYS TO GO WITH THIS-- Perhaps she could learn to make her items from feathers? Or she can work her magic on feathery accessories so people can have her buffs without her constantly needing to touch up clothing? HMM.
Extreme weakness to enemies that love them though. Farm animals would be the worst.
