Test Drive: September 2020

Test Drive: September 2020—

§ instructions.

Welcome to the Test Drive for Forgotten Tales! This is to help interested players test out their characters in the game's setting and see if the essence they have chosen will actually work in game play. There are a number of prompts that try to touch on the kinds of settings and scenarios the characters may encounter. So here are a few things to keep in mind while on the test drive:

  • Feel free to use the current Workshop for help if you need it! Both the Workshop and the Test Drive are required for Registration.

  • Participating on the Test Drive does not guarantee a spot on either Claims or Registration.

  • Check the Character Roster and Essence List to see if your choices are not already taken.

  • Include Character Name and Canon in the subject line, and note somewhere within the toplevel your character's essence. It can be in the subject line if you already know what it is (so ex; Character | Canon | Essence). Side note: You are free to try more than one essence if you're on the fence. Just make sure to note which one you're using for that particular prompt.

  • Players are free to assume their characters have been informed of the very basics so you can skip all that if you'd like.

  • Only the "In the Index" prompts of the Test Drive can be carried over in its entirety, but you can alter the story based ones as "stage play" settings within the Index if you wish to carry over that interaction as well.

  • Don't forget to refer to the Game Info for how the mechanics work.

  • Public Registration is currently closed until further notice, but anyone with an invite and current players can register at any time. Claims will open at a later date.

Most of all, have fun! Feel free to invite those you may think would be interested to participate in the test drive.

§ prompts.

¶ I. In the Index. When not out adventuring or playing character roles in stories, the Aspects will have some downtime within the Index, the central hub of the Realm of Stories. Here they can explore the city, read up on other stories, socialize with fellow would-be heroes, learn more about the essence, or even just do nothing at all. Any threads and CR made with "Index" prompts can be carried over into the game.

  • A. Out in the City. Life in the Index can range from the mundane to the extraordinary depending on which area one travels to. Because it is a hodgepodge of many different stories from numerous cultures, one can never be sure what they may encounter even on an average run for groceries. The Commission Board is also available to choose special jobs from. (This is basically the free for all "taste of normal life" prompt.)

  • B. Essence Practice. Suddenly inheriting the abilities of another person while losing most of your own at the same time can be quite jarring. Picking a place to test out these newfound powers or even going to the Library to read up on the essence's story may help glean some clues as to what they can do.

  • C. Try Out the Journal. The journals are unique to this world and the sole source of communication for everyone. Feel free to give it a try, either by sending a random message out or even a doodle.

  • D. Macy's, Eat Your Heart Out! To celebrate the arrival of the Aspects and all the work and help they've provided for the past two years, the local citizens are throwing a festival and are hard at work to prepare. This year they want to throw a parade and special floats are being made to reflect the five different stories that have been restored. However, things never go as planned. That's why they might desperately rope passersby- including newer Aspects- into making sure the floats don't go (completely) out of control and ruin the party before it even gets started.

    1. Just Tricks no Treats. For Hollow Christmas Carol, the main feature of the float is a mechanical horse that a costumed "headless" rider will sit upon while throwing presents and candy to the crowds. The horse is also equipped to fire soft presents and candy through a special cannon equipped in its mouth. However, there is a problem—a lot of problems. For whatever reason, the mechanical horse will suddenly spring to "life" and become a buckin bronco, tossing whoever tries to sit on it. When testing the mouth cannon, it spins out of control while firing candy out like bullets. The float itself has mysterious pumpkins growing on it which need to be removed. There's also the matter of collecting enough candy and wrapping presents for the masses.

    2. Fly Me to the Moon…? The Bamboo Cutter's float is decorated as a bamboo forest and there will be shows of skilled swordsmanship as they cut through designated patches to then toss out the small gems that are produced in the shoots. Volunteers for actors are needed, but what they desperately need are bakers. A giant moon cake is to be on display that will later be cut and shared among the populace at the festival. However, it's a massive endeavor and requires a lot of ingredients and several people to help prepare each section. To make things worse, someone or something keeps eating it!

    3. Clammed Up. The Little Mermaid needs pearls. Lots of pearls. However, the clams they brought to help harvest them are being difficult and refuse to open. These clams are special in that they're similar to chickens—they can create a large pearl within a day or two, thus they are treated with care. But they have become spoiled and refuse to give up their goods until certain demands are met. They range from singing to them, bathing them with luxurious bath salts, and decorating their shells. Only once appeased will they hand over their beautiful pearls...only for the process needing to be repeated again.

    4. Rose Parade. The fae are in charge of A Midsummer's Rose float, and a few pixies have decided to join in on the fun. Along with taking care of the living flowers and plants that form the float itself, those around the float must be wary of the pixie dust that is sometimes scattered about (on purpose). The dust can make the individual feel very giddy, as if drunk, and even have them float in the air a few feet. Waving some pollen from any flower on the float will negate the effects, but even that can be difficult given the flowers are affected too. Snapdragons and dandelions on this float act exactly as their namesakes and will get a bit "chompy" when hungry; pansies will start cowering and crying in fear; and love-lies-bleeding will lean too hard into the Shakespeare influence start wailing loud, stilted death speeches and trying to steal the show; and so on. Getting enough pollen to snap everyone out of it might require some creative thinking.

    5. Shroom Magic. Although recent, those from Alice in Wonderland won't miss out! Their float is like a whimsical tapestry depicting key scenes of Alice's journey through Wonderland. They also have a little "play" zone formed with large, special bouncy mushrooms for kids to join in during the parade. However, the mushrooms are a bit too bouncy...and playful. They've suddenly sprouted legs (some are blaming the pixies) and are jumping about making a mess of things, even endangering the other floats still being built! Help wrangle the mushrooms and get them back in their place. A quick splash of a special brew will help return them to normal, but if any get on a person, then they will have some growth and shrinking problems. There are also warnings to not consume either the mushrooms or the drink as they can cause serious hallucinations and delusions. For some reason people are not heeding that warning, so taking care of the afflicted by bringing them to nearby healers is requested as well.

¶ II. It's Getting a Little Mad Here. Things to get a little weird once the autumn season rolls in and everyone starts getting ready for the spooky season, but things have gotten downright crazy and even dangerous. Normally tame creatures are behaving erratically and inanimate objects are suddenly coming to life. There are also reports of strange lightning appearing somewhere deep in the dark forests outside the Index. Help handle and investigate these strange incidents!

  • A. Hog Wild. Although not the original "Three Little Pigs," pig triplets are not uncommon in town and many have followed their "role models" and turned to construction. However, for some reason all of these construction pig workers have taken on a more destructive route and have started to demolish everything! With various tools including jackhammers and even a wrecking ball, these pigs mean business. Stop them before they destroy more of the city!

  • B. Gobble Gobble . The dreadful Swan Princess has returned! And this time she has an army of birds to aid in her wreaking havoc across the Index! Ducks locking people in their outhouses, chickens gobbling up all the corn in the fields, loons untying boats so they drift off docks, chaos everywhere! Worst of all is the princess's steed, a massive turkey the size of a horse, running through the streets and frightening all with its gobble! Those facing the giant turkey must either dress up as something enticing to try and "woo" it away (an attractive turkey, a big ear of corn, a giant moth for some reason…) OR ditch the costumes and hunt it down to add to the anniversary feast.

  • C. Stoned. Late at night, strange creaking sounds can be heard along the rooftops and strange shadows cover the night sky. It's on the second night that the source is revealed to be strange, large stone gargoyles that have perched atop random buildings. Some partake in late night revelry, drinking and carousing until right before dawn. Others take to the streets and behave like thugs, harassing and threatening hapless late night workers. Fortunately none have grown violent, but concerns are there. They only appear at night, arriving once the sun sets and leaving before the sun rises. It has been found that those caught in the sun will harden and are unable to move, making it easier to capture and, in some cases, destroy. It's uncertain as to whether the gargoyles are "living" creatures or inanimate stone structures magicked to "life."

  • D. Wayward Woods. Those who follow the departing gargoyles will discover them heading deep into the dark woods, known for the dangerous beasts that lurk within. Those strong enough will spot a castle in the distance, but no matter how hard they try they cannot seem to reach it, thwarted by a magical fog and moving trees that disorient all who approach by ground or air. But lightning is constantly seen striking in the vicinity and the occasional maniacal laugh.

¶ III. Scene Snippets. The following prompts are various scenes styled similarly to those designed for the campaigns. Two characters are randomly assigned a role and must "act out" the scene. It can be assumed they are given the basics, but they are free to act however they wish. There is no real script or set direction, and they will have full access to their Essence abilities. Roles are not gender limited, so go wild. You are also free to create your own scenes or play within the general setting of the provided stories, even if they are not specified. Everything here is just a "guideline" and characters can act and behave however they would if dumped into the setting.

  • A. The Princess and the Frog. A classic tale of a prince saved by the kiss of the beautiful princess. Or thrown into a wall. Or just has to sleep on a pillow. Obviously this story has a loooot of versions, one more can't hurt, right?

    1. A Frog's Life For Me. Somehow things got a little mixed up—it seems that everyone has been turned into a frog of various species and are stuck in a random castle. Fortunately, there is a cure! —Aside from finding a princess to give a kiss (or try kissing each other, who knows it could work), a special potion bottle rests on a shelf in the adjacent room, so it shouldn't be too difficult to recover, right? Well, maybe if there wasn't a weird spiny half-goblin-half-hedgehog resting in the room. Sneak past it to get the potion!

    2. Just a Little Smooch? All right, things have been properly sorted and the main characters, the Frog Prince and the Princess have been cast. Of course, the Frog Prince is really a frog, not in a costume. Although a "true love's kiss" is the traditional means to break the curse, there are some other options: 1) creating a potion using less than flavorful ingredients based on a frog's natural diet (mmm flies); 2) traversing through the nearby swamps to find special moss illuminated by a firefly's bulb for the frog to roll through (beware the wildlife, both native and Eraser form); 3) defeating the giant snake lurking in the swamp's waters and smearing its venom all over the frog's hide (but the Princess should not touch it or they will be paralyzed); or 4) try some of the other story methods, such as chucking the frog into a wall.

    3. I Object! Somehow, the curse has been broken, and the prince and princess are set to wed! But before that can happen, the Aspects have to deal with the Blot of Iron Henry, the Frog Prince's most faithful servant. The Story Eater's corrupted him into a raving fanboy who refuses to let his Prince-sempai marry anyone but him! It's up to the Aspects (dressed either as the happy couple or as part of the wedding parties) to subdue the wedding crasher so the party can continue! Be warned, though, Iron Henry will try to fight back by throwing magical iron bands from his heart.

      • Scene Revisit. On future revisits, instead of a Blot Iron Henry, Aspects are cast into the role alongside a Frog Prince or the Princess. Iron Henry's goal is "win back" his prince, thus Iron Henry must either convince the Frog Prince to let him remain at his side (however that is interpreted) or must face off the Princess who won't let her Prince go so easily (or will she?). Of course...everyone has two hands.

  • B. Create Your Own! No need to limit to what we provide. If there's a particular story, scene, or even setting that you think would be fun, go for it! You can even use the story your character's essence is from. Other options are any of the scenes and settings from our previous campaigns and side stories.

¶ IV. Mix it up. This is the "wildcard" prompt. Feel free to take any of these prompts and make them more of your own, or pull from an entirely different story. As mentioned you're free to use any of our previous stories or other events. Just have fun with it!

changeitall: (I'm ready to learn)

Weiss Schnee | RWBY | The Snow Queen

[personal profile] changeitall 2020-10-21 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
A. Out in the city

[Jumping into a world like this seems more like Ruby's thing to do but well, here's Weiss, in the middle of a strange city, completely new and alone. She has no idea whether or not anyone else from Remnant ended up here but if they did, Weiss kind of stands out in her new white coat/cloak/whatever it is and the gloves are new too. Where's her rapier? Dust? Nowhere here, apparently, but her hair still braided like it's back home too at least part of those clothes are her own.

Can she eat the gingerbread house? Nope, sounds like a bad idea to eat even a little bit of someone's home, right? She's walking around to see her new so called home, she doesn't even notice anything about leaving any frost / ice / snow on her steps wherever she walks and maybe she should go to the library to read things but that sounds pretty lonely... Nope, she doesn't feel like being alone if she doesn't have to, she glances at anyone, who happens to be anywhere near her.]

So, how long have you been here?

B. Essence Practice

[She's the SNOW QUEEN?! Weiss is not impressed at all by what an ironic twist that is to so many things from home. Her name means White Snow, she's from the coldest areas of Remnant and her nickname is Ice Queen among with everything else... After reading in the library, she's heading out to an open area to practice her new skills.

Does she really have snow and/or ice magic? What if she'll accidentally freeze someone?! No, she has no idea how to unfreeze anyone if that accidentally happens anytime soon unless it works like it did in the original story too. Does that mean she doesn't need Dust to make huge ice flowers or other ice things? That sounds kind of cool and yes, the pun totally intended but maybe don't let her get started with practicing those too.

Weiss has no idea how these new powers work, she's not very familiar with magic in general but she's sure she can handle it somehow. She's trying to make that ice flower at first, unsurprisingly that doesn't work when she has no idea what she's even doing or what she should be doing to learn to control her new powers. Right, okay, it's not as easy like she could just do things out of nowhere.

But after trying to make that work, she's standing on a pile of snow with even more snow around her and she manages to make a snowball appear on her hand at least. That's not as cool as she thought this could be, she's throwing that away an hopefully she doesn't accidentally throw it at anyone or anything nearby, she thinks she's still alone while she's been focusing on trying to make these new skills work for who knows how long. She'll make them work, it may just take some time!!]

C. Clammed Up

[Weiss thinks she could have been an amazing Mermaid herself but her essence is obviously something else. She's here to help with the clams either way, decorating the shells sounds fun but giving them luxury baths just makes her want to take a bath like that herself too... Maybe she'll get that later.

Then they demand ask her to sing?? No problem, she has experience of performing in front of audiences and it shows in the confident smile on her face.]

What do you want to hear?

[The clams? Anyone else near her? Is it going to be a solo all by herself or a duet with someone?]

D. Rose Parade

[This is not the kind of dust, that Weiss means whenever she mentions Dust and this is not the effects she wants to have from any dust!! She's suddenly giddy and floating in the air but she's laughing about it and it's almost like she's drunk???}

Hey, you should try this too!

[That's not a "Get me down from here!" or anything else like that. But getting her back to normal could be a good option too instead of watching how she's trying to move around while she's floating!]

E. Just a Little Smooch?

[If Weiss is the Frog, she'll try to get anyone's attention to herself to get that kiss! Yes, anyone's, because she's not picky right now and she just wants to return from this new form as soon as possible! Jumping around, coming near anyone to randomly talk to them because talking frogs are totally normal (they're not, talking animals in general aren't normal at all!) and trying to smile at anyone like she's the cutest frog anywhere... ]

In some fairytale a kiss actually worked...

[ It BETTER work! Help?!

If she's the Princess, she's ... well, she sure seems to be more picky than being about to kiss any frogs out of nowhere. Sorry, who knows if they're a normal frog or if it doesn't work and maybe they should consider other options too? At least she's not completely ignoring anyone, any frogs get a curious look from her.]

Are you here for a kiss or something else?

Wildcard

[ Frog's life aka being stuck as frogs in that castle together and having to sneak past the guard? Window shopping in the city? Seeing her near your house / living place in the city? Or whatever else, I'm open to ideas!!]

III-A-3-ish

[He thinks he liked it better as a frog.

Whatever this crown of laurels he can't seem to ditch might mean, Liam is not a prince anymore, and he's not doing this. Liam has never been one to refuse sleazing it up... with a grown man, at least. But a royal marriage? Even play-acting at it raises his hackles, brings back some bad memories. None of this is cute. Being a Prince or Princess is not some fun fairytale time, and he's not letting this play out in the direction things are going, no matter the stakes. This story can be left unwritten. This story should be left unwritten.]

Ahaha! Oh, no, no, I don't think so. Sorry, but I'm not marrying either of you.

[Liam laughs like he's joking, but there is an undercurrent of stress in his voice. Fuck this very much, actually. Nope nope nope!]

Wildcard - A Sisyphean Punishment

[Liam is cursed to have something to go wrong just as things seem at their best. It's hard not to get a reputation for being doomed after awhile - his involvement in things, voluntary or otherwise, always seems to backfire in the worst way, as though the Gods themselves conspired to punish him. Liam thinks he has finally mastered his earth magic? Well, it's time for a very unfortunate cave-in. Finally bested a dangerous foe? It would certainly be a tragic accident if a spell misfired, or a sword happened to slip in just the wrong direction, huh? No one ever seems to die, though, but there's certainly seems to be some laser-focused suffering going on - perfectly tailored to be the worst possible outcome to Liam's current situation. Death does not like being cheated, and it's out to prove that sometimes, living is worse.

Whatever it is, the worst possible thing has just happened, like the Gods just have it out for the two of you - and it's time to deal with the consequences.]

Alvin | Tales of Xillia 2 | Frog Prince

[personal profile] opportunitycosts 2021-02-03 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
I-A. Out and about...as a frog!?
[Is there someone he can go to file a complaint? Because that is exactly what Alvin wants to do right now. The moment he opened his eyes after passing into the book, the first thing he noticed was that everything was very big and that he had to look up at everything. The second thing was that he had green webbed feet and a stumbling crazy hop skip to a window revealed he was a freaking frog. Third thing was he couldn't speak.]

Riiiibbiit!?!??! Ribbit ribbit ribbit—!!

[Even someone who didn't speak frog could probably tell the little creature was cursing up a storm.

And then he spent several minutes brooding in a corner in despair before he finally moved on...

Well, he was actually forced due to attracting the attention first a bird and then a cat.]

RIIIBBBIIIIITTT!!!

[So should anyone be out in the streets, they will spot a poor little screeching green frog with a crown atop its head hopping madly over and under everything and everyone. Alvin is learning very quickly he's got increased jumping skills and is going to really need to work on his control. He may even accidentally jump right into someone's face. But some assistance would be very much welcome.

[note: option for this to be set after Alvin would have learned how to talk while frog is also doable, just need to specify o/]

I-B. Frog Attachments.
[After returning human, Alvin first acquires a greatsword and a gun to substitute for his original weapons. He already knows he can't execute most of his more advanced artes without the Allium Orb, but a few quick practice swings and shots at some targets assures him he still has his natural strength and technical skills still. Then it's time to figure out what...can he do as the "Frog Prince." After flipping through his journal, he shuts it closed with a sigh.]

With all the information they provide in the journal, you'd think they'd give something on how to use your essence... Guess I'll have to figure this out on my own.

[He's a bit wary in trying to change back into a frog, so he'll skip out on that for now. There are a few things he happens to figure out (mostly on accident), but now he's found himself in an odd situation. While passing through one of the parks, he happened to spot a frog and wondered if he could understand if he tried to talk to it. Turns out he can, if a bit basic, but still pretty cool (if admittedly weird). But then the "one" frog turned into two... And then three. And now Alvin has found himself surrounded by frogs of all shapes and sizes.]

Whoa there, easy guys. I appreciate the love, but—you realize I'm not really some kind of "royal frog," right?

[He only gets the frogs hopping onto him and attaching themselves wherever they can, which really makes this for an odd and troubling sight. Unable to really move in fear of accidentally stepping on one, Alvin will desperately look towards anyone who happens to see the strange sight.]

Hey, uh—a little help?

IV. Wildcard

macy's: fly me to the moon

[ He'd originally told himself he needed to help, to do what he could. An actor might have been fine, really, considering he's not too shabby at being less than truthful, but this task is more than slightly out of his element. He isn't exactly having flashbacks, but ah, he is certainly remembering past kitchen failures right about now. He could use a knife, technically. But that's about it.

His sigh is audible, and there's a slight pang in his chest as he recalls exactly who made him cake the last time he ate it. ]

You really have no idea what you're in for.

[ is he talking to the cake ingredients? Or the person working next to him? Maybe both. Maybe himself too, honestly. ]

a little mad here: stoned

[ What had started as an evening stroll had turned to something more like a stalk, Julius having taken it upon himself to do some checking on these gargoyles that had been prowling around at night. Fortunately they were more of a nuisance than a harm, but it didn't stop Julius from being curious.

Possibly too curious. A drunk gargoyle ends up seeing him and challenging him to an arm wrestling contest. Against his own better judgment, he agrees, a chance to get a better look...

What Julius had miscalculated was the timing of the sunrise, as he and his challenger grasp fingers - and, no surprise, the gargoyle has quite a grip - the sun hits the horizon and the gargoyle turns to stone, leaving Julius' fingers trapped in a stone fist.

If you're passing by... ]

I could really use a hand right now.

All Index prompts

1:
[The last thing Gaston remembers before all this is tumbling backwards, into darkness and towards an ever-closer solid ground. And sure, he could've convinced himself that he survived that, because how else could he still be experiencing anything at all? But the Storyteller is quick to explain what's happened and where he is, and now he can no longer fool himself.

He's dead and this is a miserable version of the afterlife. No, a very convoluted hell, even.

Even as she's dropped in the middle of a street, the realization causes such an avalanche of emotion that it triggers one of the abilities of his essence- an essence he doesn't really know anything about. Anger courses through his mind and when he looks down at his hands, he sees long, dirtied fingernails. He sees a messy beard and sticky, tangled hair falling over his shoulders.]

No!

[At first, the word is more like a startled gasp. Then he whirls round and sees his reflection in a store window. What's staring back at him is not his beautiful self, but rather, a dirty tramp who hasn't shaved in what appears to be years. The bearskin he's wearing over his shoulders and head isn't too strange a sight- he loves animal pelts. The tattered green jacket he's wearing underneath is unfamiliar, though. None of that matters, because the worst part is that he can't see his face beneath all this frizz.]

It can't be! NOOO!

2:
[Now that Gaston's calmed himself down- mostly- he's back to looking like his usual self. He's still wearing the bearskin and the green jacket, but at least his face is smoothly shaven! He has to try and get a better grasp on his situation. Logically, that would mean going to the library to do some research on his essence and the Index, but uh... Several problems with that, which all boil down to an extreme reluctance to actually enter the building.

So instead, he's sitting on the front steps, chin resting on one hand as he listlessly flips through his journal with the other. He's clearly not reading anything he comes across. He's just... staring at the words.]

This is ridiculous... [Is something he grumbles under his breath.]

Index prompts ahoy

A: Arrival

[This was a nightmare. Not only did he somehow end up in another world, he was in another world with an essence of an annoying idiot named Cu Chulainn. Also known as Lancer, who he had fought with once. Though his looks were quite different, as his hair was multicolored for some reason, with brown at the base, blood-red in the middle, and a crown of golden yellow. His spear didn't quite look like Gae Bolg the Lancer he knew had.

How did he end up becoming this guy. Storyteller sure had a weird sense of humor.

Well, he knew some of the tale of Cu Chulainn, but he might as well refresh his memory so he headed towards the library.]

Journal entry

Sender: Cu Chulainn | Shirou Emiya
Recipient: Everyone

I'm going to need a sparring partner to learn my essence's abilities. I am experienced with swords, but spears are a completely new to me. The spear, however, is special so any injury suffered from it will take extra time to heal.

I have a big castle, so we can spar there.

[After sending the message he notices what his name is on the journals and he curses out loud wherever he is over his name being displayed like that.]

Around town

[After settling into the castle and finding things like a stable, two horses and a chariot, Archer has a good way to travel between the castle and Index. The horses listen to his every word and wait for him patiently whenever asked.

Maybe being Cu Chulainn had its perks.

For now though, he's going to need some groceries and other essentials that didn't come with the castle. So he's very much around in his Celtic armor. His spear he left at the back of the chariot for the horses to guard.]

Rin Tohsaka | Fate/Stay Night (UBW) | Morgan le Fay

[personal profile] greedyvixen 2021-03-01 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Out in the city

[There's a new girl in the city! Her usual red coat is a hooded red cloak now and for anyone unfamiliar with Command Seals she has two weird red tattoo-like marks on the back of her right hand... She's taking a tour around the city all alone, trying to get to know the place and wondering what to do next. Rin didn't even agree to come here, how dare anyone suddenly kidnap her from the middle of her war?!

The marketplace makes her realize, that she's hungry but she tries to ignore it for now. She's more busy window shopping for clothes and jewelry even if she is looking at various restaurant windows too... But speaking of jewelry, she seems really interested in those even if she doesn't have her jewel magecraft anymore. But maybe her essence can do that stuff too, hmm, shouldn't be too difficult to test that but maybe she'll start with something else.

Eventually she'll be heading to the library to learn even more about her own essence and everything else too.]

Essence practice

[At least the Storyteller has one good way to apologize for dragging Rin here. Giving her the essence of Morgan le Fay or Morgana or Morganna (or however people want spell it) means she still has magic and if she could have chosen her essence herself, this may have been her own pick too. So she is at least happy with that.

Except at first it takes her a while to think of something, that would work and then when she gets something as basic as fire magic to work, it's just a small flame on her palm?? What?! How dare they do this to her?! Rin's been calm on the outside so far but she's much less calm now.]

Hey, you're one of the most powerful witches ever! That can't be all you can do and I want more--!

[Yes, because yelling at her essence is clearly the way to go whenever Rin wants something from her. Well, it makes the small flame suddenly grow a lot! It probably has nothing to do with the words because she really should stay calm and reserved whenever she's practicing magic, or else she'll lose control of whatever she's doing with it... Tohsaka knows that, she learned it ten years ago and she keeps it in her mind all the time! But wow, losing all of her own magic after ten years of daily practice and rebuilding it this way is frustrating as hell!]

Castle hunt

[Network says that Shirou Emiya is here and apparently he has his own castle now? So Rin is going around different castles for two things; looking for that stupid idiot, so that she can kill him for following her into a different world... (She won't actually kill him or anyone else!) And more importantly she wants to find somewhere to live alone for herself too. If it's going to be a castle, then Rin wants whichever castle she happens to like the most and not some boring medieval castle despite her essence being from those times.

If you happen to live in a castle, maybe she will stop by and she'll start with saying hello! She'll even try to act all prim and proper while she's a guest there but wow this place has a lot of castles to go through...]

Wildcard
[Up for anything else too! She's from very early UBW anime, that episode where she says she'll kill Shirou to Archer on that rooftop etc etc. Right after that scene too, actually, and oh right, before I forget, she's in the workshop too!]
