Player: Chicklet | ChickletLARP Character: Fujiwara no Sai Canon:Still not sure. Probably near the end, though. Age: If you count the time from when he was born to canon point, well over a thousand years old, as he was born in the Heian Period but he died as an adult, but on the younger side of adulthood. (Canon is fuzzy on this, wiki isn't helping, I will try to get a closer idea during canon review. He was young to be a full on Master, I know. Bio Blurb: He lived and breathed Go. Go was his life. He taught Go, he advised on Go, and he died because of Go (Suicide after he was falsely accused of cheating). His desire to play The Devine Move was so strong that he persisted as a spirit, haunting a - you guessed it - Go board. He taught many people to play Go by haunting them, getting to play through them until they eventually died, or in at least one case, got so good themselves that they lost the ability to see and hear him, and he began to fade...
Personality Blurb:He is, in a word, obsessed. At a glance he cuts an impressive figure in his period garb, tall hat, and long flowing purple hair. When you get closer still you see the purple lipstick and the small but tasteful earrings. When you get closer yet, you will see this serious seeming young adult turn into an utter goofball as he tries every tool in his arsenal to get you to play Go with him. Sai is... emotional to say the least. And after so long with no one able to see him, he has trouble controlling himself when he can be seen and heard. He does genuinely care for people, but often he has to work hard to put that caring before his love of Go. He makes the main character puke by overwhelming him with sorrow whenever he refuses to play. He doesn't mean to be a negative spirit, he is just very... driven. And he does genuinely grow to care for his students. It is just... the rush of being able to play after so long... leaves him with a lot of cabin fever and a loss of control and self-discipline.
Preferred Essence(s):I am thinking the Japanese folk tale of the Amabie at the moment, but am open to other ideas. Especially ghost stories, for obvious reasons.
this also came up in a discussion but not sure it counts. Looking For: ghost stories, especially ones about games, winning, and or possession.
Appearance: Tall, slender, wearing Heian dress generally, long purple hair, tall hat, purple lipstick, small stud earrings that look like Go stones, intense grey-purple eyes. (at least they look grey-purple to me? They're hard to see in many images and I'm shade blind.) Young but adult. Tends to look very feminine.
Abilities: An insanely strong Go game, especially now that he is learning the modern Joseki. The ability to affect whomsoever he is currently haunting via his moods.
I was thinking from the essence a healing ability through Go and good fortune from being hugged by him, if he sticks with the Amabie?
Quirks: If Amabie, maybe a desire to grant wishes and the ability to stay under water as long as he needs to/float above it?
Goal:I miss this game and suddenly Sai is being as loud in my head as though I were Hikaru. Extra: Hi, so I was here before, briefly, and very confused. Hoping to be less bothersome with my questions this time! Thanks! Questions: I'm sure I will have many, but for the moment I'm actually okay. Thank you all. :: deep bow::
