Game Notes #22: November 24, 2019

GAME NOTES #22: November 24, 2019—

Hope you guys have been having great fall so far, and that those tricks and treats at the Halloween Faire haven't caused too much trouble for your characters! Here's a fresh batch of notes, unveiling details about our December event!

§ schedule

Here is our current schedule:

MAIN SCHEDULE
10/07-1/??: Break
12/01: Once Upon a Dream Event
12/15: Story Eater Fight
1/??: Campaign #4 Start
MOD NOTES SCHEDULE
1/??: Campaign #4 Notes/Sign-Up
STORY CHECK SCHEDULE
12/01: Monthly Check-In
1/01: Monthly Check-In

The first part is a freeform mind-walking event- memory viewing, best or worst case scenarios, dreams and nightmares, whatever you'd like- with players creating mindscapes for their characters and for others to explore. The second will be a big boss fight, with more details pending… but first the characters will need to escape.

§ new(ish) helper mod

We'd like to OFFICIALLY welcome Taisa as a full-fledged helper mod! She signed up to help us a few months ago, but it wasn't until this month that she could fully help us with prompt writing and event and story ideas, and she's been doing a great job too! Congrats and welcome, Taisa!

§ once upon a dream: general info

  • Setting: The event will begin inside the characters' minds, as Aspects travel into them in order to free each other from the curse. Once everyone wakes up, there will be a boss fight in the Index, with details on that coming later!

  • Schedule: Given the nature of the dreamwalking portion of the event, IC time will be more than a bit nebulous; OOCly, the event will last two weeks before the boss fight log is posted. The boss fight will last one day IC, and the log will last for a week. Still, everyone can thread for as long as you want on either part of the event.

  • Designated Log: There will be two designated logs for this event: one for the dream walking portion of the event, and one for the boss fight. We request all related threads be made in those two logs.

§ once upon a dream: break the curse

Remember the black briars chasing the slay ride and the thorns among the mistletoe during the fair? Well, it turns out those were heralds for the Story Eater's next move! Erasers and influenced citizens have spent all month planting roses at key locations around the Index, and at the start of the month, the whole city will be flooded with gnarled thorns and inky black roses, running through the streets and climbing into houses, blocking off access to the repaired stories or the homeworlds… and placing everyone in the Index into a deep, magical sleep. Erasers will even be sent into the dreaming Aspects' minds to make sure that the Storyteller's last hopes never wake up. But there might be a way out yet...

  • Mindscapes: However the characters' mindscapes look and what elements they contain are entirely up to you. The setting could be familiar locations from their pasts, wherever they consider home, constructs from home if their characters' canon has those (ex. Kingdom Hearts' Dive to the Heart, the Lions' astral planes in Voltron: Legendary Defender, Persona's Tartarus or TV World, etc.), whatever you think fits your character best. Whatever "traps" or other elements are also up to the player, as well as the presence of Erasers and what forms they take. One character could be in an idyllic version of home, with an Eraser posing as a loved one convincing them to stay forever. Another could be tormented by or fighting an Eraser disguised as an enemy or a skeleton in the character's closet, doing everything in their power to make the Aspect abandon their quest. Another might have memories from home or the game locked away in objects, and instead of confrontation, the key is "releasing" all the memories. Or all three in different areas of the same mind! Maybe some pieces from the Essence's memories or thoughts can be thrown in too! Basically, it's completely up to the player what the layout of the dreamscape is, as well as what- if any- "victory conditions" there are, the only limit is your imagination.

  • Dream Walkers: Meanwhile, Aspects will be able to travel in between others' mindscapes, and maybe figure out the keys to freeing them from their slumber. Given the nature of the curse and the connections, Aspects can visit mindscapes either in an order or simultaneously, and even if Aspects are currently trapped in their own minds, fragments of them might be able to escape and help others. OOCly, this means you can play out either or both sides of the event if you choose. In addition, characters visiting another's mind might be granted abilities based on the dreamer's canon, if they so choose. For example, Rokurou could gain a Keyblade while visiting Roxas's dream, a Persona in Dojima's, and… a good appetite in Kotori's. (Welcome to slice of life land.) Each "loan" is up to collaboration between the players, and only lasts while in that particular character's dreams.

  • Insomniac's Jungle: However, perhaps some of the Aspects were able to escape the curse somehow. They could have been visiting another story or their home worlds and returned just before the briars closed them off, or maybe the spell just wasn't very effective. In any case, those who manage to hold onto consciousness will find themselves in a nightmare landscape: thorny vines as thick as tree trunks spilling out of buildings and choking streets, slowly draining them of color; citizens and fellow Aspects slumped over and unresponsive; and feral plant-like Erasers swarming and pillaging the streets… and ready to mow down anyone still awake. Those still awake can try to clear away the briars with their powers or just old-fashioned hacking, but it will definitely take some time, and it might not be a bad idea to guard the sleeping Aspects' bodies to make sure no physical harm comes to them as well. In addition, they might be fortunate enough to stumble across a few items strewn across the wreckage. At first glance they might look ordinary, even like seedlings among the vines in some cases, but they're brighter in color and faintly sparkling, imbued with the Storyteller's power. Looks like they might have provided a few tools before they succumbed to the spell:

    • A green cloak, which can make the wearer invisible for a brief time
    • A red rose, which can transform into a fiery, thorny whip
    • A purple pansy with the ability to grow into a large shield, but only for a few hits
    • A satin pillow that will explode into a cloud of feathers when thrown
    • A glass bottle labeled "Love Potion", that can be thrown to douse targets in liquid and fumes to confuse (and possibly bewitch) them... caution with bystanders
    • A spindle that can produce an endless amount of extremely durable thread
    • A double-headed white rose which can create mirror images of the user; careful as they only last for one hit
    • A robin plushie that, when thrown at a target, will transform its head into a donkey's; may induce laughter in onlooking Erasers
    • A hot coal grenade that will ignite into flame hot enough to scorch even the most fire-resistant briars

These items aren't able to do much now due to the curse, but perhaps once enough of its influence is cleared away, these might come in handy against the brunt of the Story Eater's army.

Those who are awake can fall asleep to help the dream walkers, however there are some limitations and risks:

    1. There is a "time limit" on how long they can stay in a dreamscape before they are unable to stay there and is forced awake. That time can be anything to up to an hour.
    2. The longer they sleep/dreamwalk, the greater the risk of succumbing to curse themselves.
    3. Injuries sustained in the dreams will carry over upon waking in a milder state. So for example, if an arm is injured while dreamwalking, that same arm will have injuries upon waking. Anything that is conceived as "fatal" will instantly wake the dreamer, but they won't have a mortal wound and instead have a serious injury.
    4. There will be greater difficulties performing abilities within the dreamscapes.
    5. They will feel sluggish upon waking, leaving them vulnerable to potential attacks.

§ once upon a dream: plotting

Feel free to use this post for plotting out the first part of the event. You can fill out and comment with the following forms if you'd like ideas and feedback for for building your mindscapes, planning out rescues and temporary powers, or teaming up to beat Erasers and gather items in the waking world. Awake characters can also designate which items they'll be finding; any items unclaimed by the time of the event's start will be available for sleeping characters to find in their dreamscapes.

And that's all for now! If you have any questions, feel free to comment to the post.

So, can the dreamscape/eraser take the form of the world's hardest platformer? Because there's this Death Road of Despair, which is essentially the world's hardest platformer with a gate to the outside world at the end.

I was thinking we could do "clear the death road, get out of the dream"

Is it possible for someone to have been asleep and in a dreamscape, and manage to wake up on their own? Or do they need someone else’s help to wake up?

On the other hand, is it possible for someone who was awake to fall asleep and go into someone’s dreamscape?

Can the dreamscapes feature versions of the character from the past? Like in Isa's case, his younger self from BBS or Saix from during Days and KH2?

Character: Kotori Iida
Essence: Sweet Porridge Girl | Sweet Porridge
Plans: Mostly trapped, but with a few expeditions into other’s minds.
Mindscape: A little bit of everything~ (Mwehehe!) The main portion will take place at Megumi’s, Kotori’s mom’s restaurant, and the first, main portion will be a memory viewing, buuuut there’s an Eraser lurking in the background~ I’ll keep the details a surprise for the moment, but there are two main routes that lead to the Eraser: one “perfect world” and one “nightmare/bad memory." I’ll make sure to label them in the write up, and let me know if you'd like more details. So it’s basically Choose Your Own Adventure, but with Kotori’s psyche!
Canon Powers: Uh… enjoy being a normal human with a hearty appetite?
Questions: Can you tell I’ve spent too long thinking about this?

Player: Zumi
Character: Gobo Fraggle
Essence: Hermes | Greek mythology
Plans: Dreamwalking is a canon thing Fraggles can do, so he'll mostly be going between other mindscapes and doing what he can. However, there'll also be an option for entering his so, both?
Mindscape: Y'all ever wanted to be in Fraggle Rock? There'll be two main portions: One of them, a more negative/fighty experience, is going to be the Outer Maze, which is exactly what it sounds like. An enormous underground chamber full of decrepit, twisty tunnels, dead ends, drop-offs into eternity, and other dangers. Near the center will be a broken rock wall and from this is where the danger escaped. In the show itself an invisible monster lives here but in the dreamscape it's going to be a massive Eraser instead (thankfully visible), that'll be roaming the maze and need to be fought. Victory conditions are either to kill it entirely or beat it back behind the rock wall and seal it back up.

The other section will be more passive, used for rest or general gathering. It's the Great Hall, a rocky, expansive underground room dominated by a deep pool of water. Anyone who gets too lost in the maze can "call out" to the dreamscape to be relocated here, and anyone who happens to fall down one of the holes will also wind up here. They'll land in the pool, but it counts? This will be a place of respite, free from Eraser influence.
Canon Powers: Any abilities characters have in the Index will be preserved here, able to be used to their fullest/current potential.

They'll also be a Fraggle. GO WILD with designing those and of course, I can help if needed~

Also, no matter what area of the dreamscape they're in they may find themselves wrapped up in music, be it from their canon, Fraggle Rock itself (can help with that too), or any other source. Songs can be used to pass time, but they can also be used to solve problems or open up new pathways, it's completely up to you!

Player: Satyr
Character: Della Duck
Essence: Icarus | Greek Mythology
Plans: Both trapped in her own mind and freeing others from their mindscapes!
Mindscape: There's going to be two locations in Della's mindscape:
The Moon for a more action/adventure feel! They'll have to evade Erasers taking the form of Moon Mites and survive by chewing black licorice-flavored Oxy-Chew while they try to repair the Spear of Selene, and thus, escape.
Alternatively, there's The Manor for all your emotional needs. Escape in this idealized version of her home and family will depend on helping Della deal with the guilt over being away from this place and those in it.
Canon Powers: Disney Animal-People forms, most likely.

Player: Taisa
Character: Kazuma Asougi
Essence: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde | Same
Plans: Trapped and also traveling.
Mindscape: Their mindscape will be of Vicotorian London, where it's constantly raining and in eternal darkness. Looking above, the traveler will see they're encased in some kind of watery dome, but can still breath. The locals are faceless and world is a grayish color, with the exception of the spider lilies scattered about the city. They gather in places important to Kazuma. One trail leads to the prosecution's office, the other to the harbor.

As you travel through the city, you can hear rumors about a serial killer lurking the streets. Occasionally a masked figure will appear and try to take down the traveler. This is an eraser, one piece of two to free Kazuma from his dream.

The lily trails that take you to the harbor will require the traveler to find a means to traverse underwater. Tt can be having a strong bond to Kazuma that allows one to breath, or finding an item strongly connected to him. Deep beneath ocean, is a sunken ship where the real Kazuma is sleeping, surrounded by a bed of spider lilies in one of the cabin rooms. The other rooms will play out memories, good or bad, with erasers disguised as crew members that will try to stop your advance.

There may be a few encounters with a personification of Hyde, but I haven't decided where he fits in this narrative I'm going with. Is he here to obstruct the traveler, or help? Or both?

Canon Powers: Besides getting a Victorian look, this is a pretty normal world. Probably the ones most effected will be the animals that will be forced to have a human appearance. While not really a power, one might get the feeling of drowning while in this world.

Player: VG
Character: Rosalia Rossellini
Essence: Medusa | Greek Mythology
Plans: Trapped, but then can wander and help
Mindscape: At first, it doesn't appear nightmarish. In fact, it's beautiful. A long expanding field filled with milkweed flowers where the mountains can be seen in the distance and a lone cabin sits. It's so peaceful, nothing could be wrong. There is a patch of flowers discolored blue, but again, nothing seems wrong. But the cabin is old, abandoned, stained by blood on the inside and glass shards. Papers are tossed about and dust has accumulated. There's nothing there... or is there?
Canon Powers: In Rosalia's canon, no one has powers save for a few surgeons and even then, they're just really talented doctors. So, the most powers someone will get is a gun... Best know how to fight lol.

Character: Godzilla
Essence: Amaterasu | Shinto Religion
Plans: Both trapped and freeing.
Mindscape: A stormy landscape, with mixtures of destroyed buildings from ancient civilization (think Atlantis) to modern scattering the dreamscape. They'll be dropped in the middle of a battle between Godzilla and King Ghidorah. Rodan and a Muto also make an appearance and seem to be supporting King Ghidorah in a three against one match. These are all Erasers hindering Godzilla from awakening.

Somewhere hidden in this landscape will be Mothra's egg that will hatch and help awaken Godzilla. So there's an option to avoid fighting altogether. The queen is that powerful ok.

I consider including the hydrogen bomb as another obstacle, but maybe the kaiju fighting is enough lol.
Canon Powers: Travelers have the option to become a kaiju, so go nuts on what kind of kaiju your character would look like and do.

Character: Katie "Pidge" Holt
Essence: Hua Mulan | The Ballad of Mulan
Plans: Trapped, mostly. But I'm willing to toss her at a couple other things, if people are interested.
Mindscape: Likely a couple of locations, such as the Garrison or one of the off-planet locations they visited. Was briefly considering using the night of that news broadcast as the "nightmare" portion. I do know that she's likely going to run into an Eraser posing as Hunk (and maybe some of the others who aren't in game), so that'll be a thing to deal with.
Canon Powers: Anyone wanna pilot a Lion? I dunno. I'll have to give it some more thought.

Player: CS
Character: Roxas
Essence: The Little Mermaid | The Little Mermaid
Plans: Trapped in his own mindscape, but also exploring others's dreamscapes once he's freed
Mindscape: Roxas's dreamscape is going to be primarily split into two areas. First, there will be an area dedicated to a sort of Dive into the Heart thing for Roxas. Those exploring this part of Roxas's dreamscape will be able to walk between a couple of platforms connected to one another with stained glass pathways and suspended in a creepy-looking void. As they do, they'll be able to see these ornate floating mirrors, each depicting a snippet of one of Roxas's memories. It might feel ominous, though there'll be no Erasers to fight off in this area. When they get to the final area, Roxas himself will be standing there, although he will look a tad bit different. He'll be under the Erasers' influence here, who are forcing him to relive his fight with Sora and thus will make him believe that the Aspect facing him is Sora. Thus, there's a good chance that characters here will have to fight Roxas to make him come to his senses.

The second area is a lot more peaceful-looking, taking place in Twilight Town. Though the more peaceful-looking of the two, this part of Roxas's dreamscape will be crawling with Erasers hiding in plain sight; if someone actively starts trying to sabotage the dreamscape or appear as hostiles, the townsfolk will begin to twist and morph into monsters that will attack the Aspects. Roxas himself can be found in one of two places; either atop the town's Clock Tower, or out at the Old Mansion out in the woods. The ultimate goal of the Erasers in this area? To make Roxas relive his memories and convince him he has to "return to Sora" again, but in reality tricking Roxas into falling into a permasleep. He'll need help getting out, for sure!

I was debating a third section, possibly relating to his time in the World That Never Was, but I'm not 100% sure on that yet. Ideas would be great!

Canon Powers: Anyone who enters Roxas's dreamscape gets access to a Keyblade; it can be a canon one that resonates strongly with your character, or a custom one specifically designed for the character. In addition to gaining a Keyblade, they also gain all the cool magical abilities associated with Keyblades. Have at it!

Player: Jojo/Lucine
Character: Dojima Ryotaro
Essence: King Arthur | Arthurian Legends
Plans: The more emotional 'Dojima' Part is very much trapped in his nightmare, but the part of him that leans closer to 'Arthur' and that appealed to that essence in the first place will be Dreamwalking to help others.
Mindscape: An Inaba covered in Fog that slowly becomes more and more surreal and dark. You're not going to find nice things in this town; it's basically Dojima's worse nightmares and regrets, his pragmatic mind and what he heard and read in Souji's interrogation and Adachi's confession. He doesn't have first hand experience with the TV world and Shadows, so someone like Yosuke or Junpei will definitely see some not quite on brand shadows.

As a heads up, you are going to see spirits, ghosts and dead bodies. These are definitely the Erasers, meant to torture Dojima for his perceived Failures. If you're not comfortable with seeing dead teenagers in particular, please be careful rping here.

There are versions of regular people too, mostly his nephew Souji or daughter Nanako who will help you out; they're the parts of Dojima that want him to forgive himself/stop beating himself up, but they're a bit powerless in this nightmare to get through to him.

There's gonna be a final boss and you win a kitten if you can guess who it's gonna be.

Canon Powers: You'll find weapons in Daihara's Metal working shop, which will be the only place showing light when you enter the shopping district. Buy what you want to use to fight through the ghosts and shadows, while Shiroku has healing items you may need... or Booze, depending on how it looks to you when you enter. Persona Summoning is possible, but since Dojima is iffy about understanding what exactly they are/how they even work, You might need to figure it out on your own. It can be as easy or difficult as you want it to be!
Questions: I'm sorry this is so dark but DOJIMA HAS A LOT OF HANG UPS...

Look, she's a workaholic, that's just what happens - but waking her doesn't happen in this layer. Instead, into the bubbling cauldron you go which is a dark orange... inside is another room filled with tubes capable of holding the average adult in suspended animation. The waters are clear, but the room itself is dark, various reds, oranges, and black. Shadows drift along the walls of various shapes... and one tube appears to be occupied by an emaciated man (Eraser).
Canon Powers: Unfortunately, no superpowers are available. If you can fight, do so. Only tools that might be available of medical so get crafty.

Player: Jojo/Lucineblue
Character: Junpei Iori
Essence: The Polar Bear Prince | East of the Sun, West of the Moon
Plans: At first, he's definitely stuck in his sweet dreams due to his quirk, but he can eventually dreamwalk or wake up.
Mindscape: Welcome to Iwatodai and Tatsumi Port Island! You'll find it's always bright and sunny, even when it's snowing. Junpei's in Iwatodai dorm, hanging out with all his dorm mates, with everyone well and happy and not dead at all, including his best friend Minako Arisato and his sweetie, Chidori. Hell, even his dad shows up, happy to see his son and doing well, and Junpei's already become a star player of a popular baseball team!

...So yeah, Junpei's literally having the sweetest dream possible. Everything he wants is here, even things he's admitted can't logically happen, but he really doesn't want to leave and will deny it to the best of his ability. To the point if you push too hard, you may end up with a team of Persona Users trying to fight you off. Of course, if you run away and come back, everything is back to normal. Junpei doesn't usually hold grudges after all.

So you'll need to figure out a way to convince him that this is 1. a dream and 2. is worth leaving. Who the Eraser is in the dream will be hard to determine. You may have to go to Gekkoukan Highschool to get more info on what exactly is going on.

However, even the SEES members may be willing to help you help him. Especially Minako and Chidori, for some reason. Also, if you're someone he knows FROM his world, you may have a much easier time getting through to him.

Canon Powers: YOU GET A PERSONA, YOU GET A PERSONA, EVERYONE GETS A PERSONA! But yeah basically, go nuts. You won't really have shadows to fight (unless you go to Gekkoukan Highschool), but since you'll be fighting against SEES if you get too agressive with shaking Junpei out of it, it's best to stock up on healing items and weapons at the Mall. ... Don't ask, Persona is weird.
Questions: Do you really want to wake him up out of this?

Player: Amanda
Character: Yosuke Hanamura
Essence: The Frog Prince | The Frog Prince
Plans: Trapped, but he can wander into other's dreams once he's freed
Mindscape: Yosuke's dream world will be in the form of the TV World aka The Midnight Channel.

However, only one dungeon will be accessible upon leaving the "stage" area and that's the huge department store known as Junes. It will play a twisted version of the Junes Jingle. It will generally look like your typical department store, but there will also be eight separate floors. Each floor will have one of the Investigation Team members that you will be tasked to provide an item to them. Once provided you will be allowed up to the next floor.

The first floor and the stage area will have Teddie who will resemble his normal self, sometimes change to his human self, or look like his Shadow. The second floor will have Naoto Shirogane, third Rise Kujikawa, fourth Kanji Tastumi, Fifth Yukiko Amagi, Sixth Chie Satonaka, and seventh Souji Seta/Yu Narukami. The eighth and final floor will feature Saki Konishi who will try to stop you from giving the last item to Yosuke, who has been trapped and without his memories the entire time on this floor.

His glasses are the last item, putting them on will allow him to see the truth, to see through Saki's disguise and see that it was his own Shadow the whole time. He will need to accept his Shadow once more, thereby allowing him to awaken and freely walk into others' dreams after this.

Erasers will be here in the form of Shadows as well, not the same kind of Shadows as the ones that turn into Personas but lesser shadows. We don't really need to go into detail as it isn't really important, but here's a list if you want!

Canon Powers: You will be given your own pair of sunglasses by Teddie as it will be foggy even inside the store. There will be various weapons littered about the first floor as well: a gun, a sword, a pair of knives, a folding fan, a folded chair and a pair of claws.

If you want to gain a Persona while inside, then you will need to find your Shadow and accept it. It is the most negative of emotions, fears and hatred that you feel for either yourself, those around, etc. They are things that you bury so deep that you don't even know it's there. For example, Yosuke's bright and sunny smile is actually front to hide how terrified of being alone he is, his friends from Tokyo had abandoned him, and he was also incredibly bored. He initially entered the TV World because it was something exciting and fun, he could maybe be a hero if he tried to solve the murder. Of course, Yosuke really did want to solve the murder because he cared about Saki. But that's the point of your Shadow. It can exaggerate things, but they are things that are already there that you feel. Here's Yosuke's Shadow, it also shows the consequences of not accepting your Shadow. This time around, you won't pass out like Yosuke does (that's usually the MO, you don't accept your shadow, the Shadow becomes a twisted version of your Persona, and it will use most of your energy to do it so you pass out) but you will need to defeat it and bring it back down to level and while its weak it's up to you to accept it. There's also the option of neither accepting or denying it, but this will cause it to fade away completely and you will NOT gain a Persona. Personas are only gained upon accepting your Shadow.

Persona 4 specifically used a lot of Japanese myth and folklore characters (i.e. everyone's final Persona forms are Japanese gods such as Izanagi, Susano-O, Amaterasu, etc). However, you are NOT limited to this. Gods and Goddess of all kinds can be used including folkloric characters and even famous fictional characters such as Arsene Lupin and Captain Kidd as of Persona 5. The design and theme really should just fit the character in some capacity.

Questions: Gotta be as TL;DR as Atlus, okay?

Character: Kokichi Oma
Essence: Lampwick | The Adventures of Pinocchio
Plans: A bit of both.
Mindscape: Good news, the key to freeing Kokichi is literally a door to the outside world!

Bad news... The only way to get to that door is through a grueling obstacle course known only as The Death Road of Despair. It's the world's toughest platformer ever: There's uneven ground, gaps in the floor, heavy doors that take a long time to open, cages that fall on you, floating platforms that sometimes move erratically, and bombs everywhere. It's three zones long. No checkpoints. If you even get one hit from a bomb or fall to your death, you have to do the entire thing from the beginning.

Thankfully, there is hope. The course won't reset until everyone in the group is knocked out, so the more people attempting it the better. Only one person in the group has to make it to the end to win. OOCly, I'll be treating Kokichi's toplevel as a mingle of sorts, so feel free to threadjack if you need to.

Also, nothing is stopping you from using your Essence powers to navigate the course or disable the traps. There are plenty of obstacles, so go nuts!

Canon Powers: Kokichi's world is full of powerless normies, so you only get to use your essence abilities. Sorry!

Character: Bridge Nocturne
Essence: Orpheus | Greek Mythology
Plans: He'll definitely mostly be trapped, but can try to help others once he's freed
Mindscape: This will definitely be more of a nightmare; a darkened ocean shore with a storm looming over the horizon. Bridge will be trapped in his Siren form with Erasers taking on the forms of other Sirens convincing him that he's nothing but a monster, just like them.
Canon Powers: Bridge's homeworld is filled with magic and demons and all kinds of things, so people will be able to retain their Essence abilities, as well as any abilities that they might have had back in their own worlds. People might not have access to Personas and Keyblades specifically, but they can have access to the powers that the Personas/Keyblades normally grant them.

People can also retain their natural forms too (so Disney-esque animals to regular humans and everything in between).
Questions: How mean can I be to Bridge, I wonder?

Character: Rokurou Rangetsu
Essence: Huntsman | Little Red Riding Hood
Plans: Both; although rather than "trapped" he's just having a grand ol' time
Mindscape: Keeping it simple, it will be a large coliseum filled with various monsters and daemons that are released to fight. It can also be staged so that it's a competition between the characters, or a tag team against monsters. He just wants to fight everything, lmao. There may be a special glimpse of what Rokurou's daemon form could look like in the future.
Canon Powers: Let's have some fun. There's the option of staying as normal human, a malakhim (spirit type, like Eizen), or a daemon (filled with malevolence, more "monster/demon"-like). Also get those fun JRPG arte skills to have fun with.

Player: Sailor G
Character: Keith
Essence: Titular Character | Little Red Riding Hood
Plans: Keith will definitely be traveling between dreams and willing to help people. Also, I want people to help him. It's one of his things that he needs to be reminded of from time to time... that it's okay to need and ask for help.
Mindscape: I have a few options here... I might change a few things around based on who shows up, kind of like how things would go in Drift Fleet's Calibrations, if anyone has ever played there. A few locations are the Castle of Lions, his desert shack, the Garrison (both before and after season 7), the Black Lion's consciousness... Memories can include the speeder chase from episode one, his fight with Shiro at the end of episode 6, first meeting the Red Lion, finding his mom... I also have some headcanon memories to play with. All of these can also be twisted into nightmares for some extra angst.
Canon Powers: The biggest ability would be the ability to use alchemy and weild powers from quintessence. How that works actually can vary a bit from alien race to alien race, so I guess that would have some influence, too. Major races in Voltron are the Earthlings, Alteans, Galra, Olkari, Arusians... there are many to choose from. Not all can weild quintessence powers. Feel free to plot out ideas with me!
Questions: If headcanon memories are a no-go, I can skip those. I'm lucky that Keith got a lot of backstory.

Player: Caprica
Character: Perseus (Percy) Jackson
Essence: Athon-Rajah | The Fish Prince
Plans: Will your character by trapped and need freeing? Wandering between minds to free others? Both?

Both? I mean, initially he can be trapped and once freed he might manage to try help others if he can?

Mindscape:

Percy is probably dreaming of a combo of his ideal, and a nightmare. Sally (his mother) and Annabeth (his girlfriend) at the apartment back home/at Camp Half Blood begging for him to stay, Annabeth making plans about studying at New Rome and everything. Where they'd be safe from monsters and not have to go on quests, focusing on their studies and just live and be together.

Then, Tartarus. Basically, you know. The Greek version of hell, where all those monsters he killed? This is where they are reviving. And also pissed, delighted to find him (and Annabeth), cursing them. Eating literal hellfire because what is actual food down here anyway. So I guess this is possibly where some Erasers could come in? As the monsters that Percy has fought or just random ones joining in the fight to try kill him/others.

Canon Powers: Well. There's, you know. Gods, Goddesses, monsters of all sorts, demigods. It's even established not just with the Greeks but Roman (similar but still slightly different, with their own Camp), and the Egyptians and Norse Gods/Goddesses as well if anyone wants to explore that? The demigod kids get various powers depending on their godly parent.
Questions: I don't think so. I'm happy to answer for others if you're not sure on the powers/demi god thing if you do want to play with it though?

Essence: Second Wife | Gold-Tree and Silver-Tree
Plans: I plan on mostly having expeditions into other people's mindscapes, but I wouldn't mind playing out a bit of Cori's own mindscape as well.
Mindscape: Well...have you ever had a videogame go glitchy on you? That's kind of what this mindscape is going to be like. There'll be a few stable "islands" of various memories of Cori's important people, but eventually the glitches are going to lead to kind of a mini-boss-fight against an Eraser in the form of the Glitch God. Cori's fought against him before, but she'll be stuck facing him alone unless people either bring her memory-friends to the confrontation or join in themselves.
Canon Powers: Well...almost anything, actually. Even people who don't have powers of their own back home might find themselves gaining new powers based on their own personality, or even their deepest wishes. Or perhaps that self-insert fanfic they wrote a long time ago and shoved under their bed. Also, a bonded creature of some sort-Cori's is a mushroom creature named Fern. These dream creatures can talk and such, but won't be as sapient or independent as they normally would be, since they're just reflections of the people dreaming them up. They can also look like almost anything, and might have voices or personalities reflecting loved ones from home.
