Hey, Ang! Love the abilities so far, especially the one blow power! I'll let Lae give you a ruling on a starting point and on the cartoon physics, but both powers can be gained/upgraded over time by participating in campaigns. You could also give him tailoring knowledge and skill, if he doesn't have some already. Both of the quirks sound interesting too, but per the guidelines above, you'll need to choose one to start. My vote is for the truth-while-sleeping one.
As for goals, neither you nor DW are required to follow the essence's story arc. Basically what we're asking is "why are you plopping your character in the game?" Character development, meeting new people, just having fun with the setting, things like that. Striving for recognition is pretty in line with both DW and the essence, though, so that could work if you want to go that route!
