He governs the skies of the world, controlling the flow of wind, summoning and moving clouds, spreading seeds and aiding flying creatures in their migrations. While he can't directly shoot lightning bolts from his person or anything like that, he can summon great storms, especially when angered.
Though Spirits have no true form, being made from the very essence of the planet itself, Eleytheria (or Eley for short) usually takes the physical form of a serpentine white and gold dragon with four feathered wings when he wishes to appear before humans and converse with them. Over time, he also finds himself taking a more human form, when he learns to befriend others once again and get closer to them.
Another point to note is that Spirits thrive on a sense of 'purpose'. That is, they know they have been created with a certain role in mind and must fulfil it for the health of the planet they're born from. As long as they have some sort of purpose, regardless of whether it's their original one or not, a Spirit will live on. If they lose that sense of purpose and believe they have nothing to live for, they will literally begin to fade away, ultimately to nothing. This is how a Spirit 'dies'. With a physical form, Eley can still be injured though, and will take time to recover from wounds or illness.
Personality Blurb: Normally, Eleytheria is calm and patient and speaks with a soothing tone. He is naturally inquisitive and won’t hesitate to ask someone about something he doesn’t understand, even if he fails to understand it after explanation. It can take him a long time to grasp certain cultural concepts among humans or any other race for that matter!
Though he is powerful, he is usually gentle and is quite happy standing on his own somewhere reflecting on the world around him and his role in keeping it ticking. This can make him seem distant and absent-minded and as he rarely outwardly portrays how he feels inside this may make him hard for people to read. Forming a close bond with him is a good way to get him to be a little more open with his feelings. His generally calm demeanour can create a relaxing atmosphere for those around him. The world moves slowly for him.
However, Eleytheria can be a sensitive Spirit and this leads to him showing a slightly darker side of himself at times. He is particularly sensitive to betrayal after his people lost faith in him and abandoned him. When he becomes upset he shows a fierce temper, often creating rain and storms and vicious gales in the process. He does not trust very easily and if any trust is broken he is not likely to forgive very easily either. He rewards people for peace and despises violence even though he lashes out himself when pushed too far. This constant struggle with his desire to be still and the imbalance of his emotions can sometimes cause problems, especially when it comes to relating to people and forming bonds with them. He is able to create friendships though, quite close ones too, and is fiercely loyal to anyone he bonds with, providing they are loyal in return. He is also shown to favour children as they are more innocent and untainted by the darkness that fills human hearts, though he may not necessarily know how to interact them as a person normally would.
Preferred Essence(s): I was thinking of Raitaro from The Child of Thunder. I've found two versions of the story and one specifically mentions that Raitaro takes the form of a white dragon when returning to the the castle in the clouds. I think it would suit Eley thematically as Raitaro learns important lessons from mortal men too and also seems to spend a lot of time reflecting alone, with his head in the clouds.
Looking For: Any other folklore/stories featuring either elementals, immortals or dragons. Eastern dragons in particular, but if there are any others that might be of interest I will take a look!
I use Uruha from the GazettE as a PB for his human form right now but I'd be more interested in sticking to dragon form for the moment.
Abilities: Since the story mentions a belief that Raitaro can gather clouds to make it rain, I was thinking something along those lines, since it's similar to Eley's own powers. Either specifically thunderclouds or rain or both if that's allowed? Or maybe specifically summoning thunder/lightning with a special drum as a nod to Raijin the Thunder God.
Quirks: I don't have any specific ideas for quirks yet but if you can think of something let me know!
Goal: I'd like have Eley explore his emotions and learn how to bond with people more again. I think this would be particularly fun in a smaller game and with the theme of stories! Extra: I can't think of anything right now! Questions: Nothing right now!
