SO. tl;dr, Daryn, as "the Watcher", is a rare sort of poor bastard that has been awakened to the memories of his past lives, and has also awakened to the power of being able to see other people's past lives, as well as their souls as they are now, and is even, to an extent, able to directly affect or influence them. He's also able to see and talk to the souls of the dead, acting as a ferryman between the Here and the In-Between, where souls reside before passing into the Wheel.
Daryn as Daryn, however, is a sweetheart of a boy. He's a pale elf, a druid of the frozen arctic south and a casual worshiper of the god of death and entropy, with powers that take from the more violent and destructive part of nature. Ice, lightning, and decay are his magical forte, and he's able to spiritshift (wild shape) in a very large wolf man. But despite the fact that he accepts and pulls his power from the more dangerous and feral side of life and nature, he's not always dangerous and feral himself. He's friendly, has an insatiable curiosity, and has left his roaming tundra tribes in every one of his lifetimes due to a deep, permanent longing in his soul to explore the world. He's very quick to make friends and build new families, as he finds himself bitterly lonely with a pack to travel with and protect. So expect to be adopted in some way or another.
Oh, and he has a wolf companion named Eskel. Except Eskel has kind of passed on decades ago. He's still surprisingly fluffy and affectionate for a spirit, though.
Personality Blurb: As mentioned above, Daryn is an odd juxtaposition of a happy and helpful young man with a decidedly dark view on life and death in nature. He was raised and influenced by the worship of the god of death and decay, Rymrgand, a beast that is also known as being the creator and father of the pale elf race. He was raised in a world where survival of the fittest was the law of the land, their tribe surrounded by and fighting for resources with not only the much larger predators of the tundra, but often other pale elf tribes, and while Daryn is a strong believer in helping others to boost his people's own odds of survival, he also doesn't shy away from a fight where it's needed.
At first glance, though, Daryn is the polar opposite of everything that his background would suggest him to be. He's a bright ray of light in many people's lives, friendly and playful and always quick to crack a joke. He's usually diplomatic to a fault, especially after leaving his homeland for less harsh environments, and find himself lending a hand wherever he thinks it's needed, without being asked. He gravitates to people easily, because people mean family, and family means surviving in a world where so much often ends up against you. It makes him fiercely protective of the people he cares for and that rely on him, to the point of risking life and limb to go against the gods themselves.
Preferred Essence(s):The Snow Queen herself, because she is everything that Daryn isn't, and the White Wolf, with heavy leanings to the Snow Queen. Looking For: Honestly, I'm not too picky about what stories he'd take his essence from. While I'd like for him to take after a character that will allow him to keep a small portion of his natural abilities, such as his spiritshift/wild shape form in particular, it's not a hard must given regains are a possibility, so I'm entirely open to other suggestions!
Appearance:Full body portrait. Daryn is on the larger side for pale elves, but he's still fairly short, standing at five and a half feet tall and with the kind of build you'd see on an archer. His skin is the pale gray-blue of most pale elves, snowy white hair he keeps braided back and glacier blue eyes. He's got a few scars on his face and several more across his chest, arms, and legs, from the unfortunate accident of having a god literally step on his keep.
For the most part, his appearance might not change much for either essence outside of the clothing he wears, although for the Snow Queen I could easily see him frosting over the more he uses her power.
Abilities: The Snow Queen's power over ice and snow are already very similar to the ice magic he wields as a druid, and he's already naturally chilly to touch due to being a Pale Elf, but her essence comes with the added bonus of him being able to shape that power into a replacement spear and possibly even livable structures! As for the White Wolf, well. He gets a pseudo-spiritshift ability with a fancy magic wolf skin, which allows him to transform into a a very large and very loving fluffy good boy.
Quirks: So for the Snow Queen specifically, I love the idea of his quirk being that his heart slowly freezes over the more he uses his icy powers, becoming slowly distant and emotionless through the process and only able to thaw his heart through the tried and true power of Love and Friendship. For a man that is as loving and bright and affectionate as Daryn is, it would be interesting to play his struggle between wanting to do everything in his power to help and wanting to not lose who he is in the process.
For the White Wolf, however, his only quirk would be becoming a little more wolf-like in his mannerisms.
Goal: Honestly, my only real goal for this game is to have fun, as I've been looking for a new RP home for a while now. I'd also love to see Daryn build up a new family while he's here, as he's going to desperately miss his friends and suffers loneliness easily. Extra: Regardless of which essence he ends up with, Daryn is nothing if not a wolf pup at heart, and is going to treat everyone he meets as pack or potential pack material. Questions: Nothing right now, but that is likely going to change haha. Hoping I get to play with everyone here! :>
