Miyamoto Musashi | Fate/Grand Order

Player: Kyio | [plurk.com profile] kyio
Character: Miyamoto Musashi
Canon: Fate/Grand Order, right after her trial quest
Age: 20
Bio Blurb: Wiki. A version of the historical Miyamoto Musashi that was born female instead of male. Her timeline no longer exists, but she was spared during it's deletion and just bounces from timeline to timeline. Dual-wielding samurai, carries four katanas. Laid-back and just Here To Have Fun, wants to try every timeline's udon and fight strong opponents while perfecting her fighting style. Has a special ability known as the Heavenly Eye, which can make certain sword strikes she makes "inevitable" if she's decided she wants to strike in a specific way. only will be used in non-PC situations if it's even bothered to be kept at all, no worries

Preferred Essence(s): God I honestly don't know. I'm considering Gulliver from Gulliver's Travels, but I'm not quite sure how to make it work in terms of abilities. Issun-boshi from The Inch-High Samurai is another idea I've got.
Looking For: Trying to think of tales that focus on travel, magical swordplay, or maybe tales involving freakishly good luck in reference to her cheating nonsense eye ability. She also falls for others easily, but I'm trying to avoid a princess-y role. It's honestly been very long since I last looked at fairy tales and my scope of them is more limited than I first realized.

Appearance: Nothing super notable, but if I do go with Gulliver, then her samurai-esque outfit will be changed to an outfit more fitting for a traveler from 1700s England. For Issun-boshi, she'll keep her usual outfit but will not be 3 cm tall at all times, so no real change there.

Abilities: She'll still fight with her dual-katanas as she normally does canonically, but her Heavenly Eye ability will be removed unless an Essence with some kind of crazy good luck ability is what she ends up with. As for in-game specific things ... Gulliver didn't exactly have any sort of magical abilities, he just bumbled into crazy lands and got in trouble a lot before going home. Issun-boshi has the magic mallet, which can be used to change her height from her normal size (167 cm) to 3cm and back again, as well as create other basic objects with it, like food or small treasures she can sell for money. In the case of Issun-boshi, her Heavenly Eye ability will be removed, while for Gulliver it'll apply to situations to "send her home/to a safe place" instead of her sword strikes, which would make it easier for her to escape crazy situations her bad luck foists on her. ... But that might be a bit OP in some scenarios, so hrm.

Quirks: Maybe if it's Gulliver, she'll have bizarrely bad luck around her (getting accused of things constantly, trouble just kind of springing up around her, etc) that she always somehow gets out of anyway. For Issun, she'll have to try harder than normal to get other people's attention if she doesn't already have it, whether she's tiny or not at the time. Open to other ideas though!

Extra: Not much to say, but since Musashi is from Fate and that whole franchise can be a nightmarish spinning hellpit, I'm totally fine with clarifying anything that might need clarification. As far as Musashi herself goes, as long as she has food, booze, and strong opponents to fight, she'll be totally okay with whatever she gets thrown at. After typing everything out though, I'm leaning heavily toward Issun-boshi.

Questions: Nnnnnnot that I can think of offhand, no.
