Eh, shouldn't be too much of a problem, really. Unless the wolves come from stories that are out for rabbits, there's no cause for concern. Even then whether a character tries to "attack" is completely up to them. The essence doesn't take over or completely change their personality. At most it would just make them feel more strongly towards them. Like for example, Big Bad Wolf from Three Little Pigs wouldn't always try to kill pigs. Instead they just might feel an attraction towards pigs in a way of like "Oooh shiny pig" or enjoy eating pork more than usual. Only reason why a character would go after others is if that character is already like that and would behave in a similar way even without the essence.
