Nanu had some some questionable things in his time but he drew a lot of lines at letting harm fall to innocents. Shame the one time it mattered most he didn't draw it hard enough, but that's neither here nor there. Puts a bad taste in his mouth either way. Alice isn't describing cops, she's describing thugs.

That bad taste is pretty quickly washed out with surprise as she tells more of her tale and so casually to boot. Nanu's a pretty stoic man in general and is surprised by little but here his eyebrows raise in obvious shock.
